Compass Students Shine at Royal Adelaide Show

28.09.22

Fun Friday activities for Week 7 took us to the Royal Adelaide Show! But it wasn’t all about rides and showbags… a number of young people at Compass entered projects they had been working on throughout Term 2 into the Royal Adelaide Art Prize competition. We’re so proud of their achievements!

Congratulations to…

Justine, who entered the Junior Art, Craft & Design Competition – Australian Landscape, including animals or birds – Justine won a Certificate of Merit and an Award of Merit medal – Justine is now looking at starting her own website where she can sell her artwork!

Jacqui, who entered the Royal Adelaide Show’s Art Prize competition – The Port Community Arts Centre Prize – her piece was called “Watering Hole”.

Rebekah, who entered the Junior Art, Craft, Design competition – painting any subject matter – Rebekah received a Certificate of Participation

Tizzy, who entered the Junior Art, Craft, Design competition – Reflecting your own, your parent’s or grandparent’s cultural heritage – Tizzy received a Certificate of Participation

Phoebe, who entered the Junior Art, Craft, Design competition – A digital photograph – Phoebe received a Certificate of Participation

These students started working on their pieces during Term 2 to ensure their completion by the end of August. The students worked well together, sharing ideas and providing support and feedback throughout the journey.

This was the first time our young people have entered work in the Royal Adelaide Art Prize competition – we look forward to seeing many more enter in 2023.
